A pass in the higher secondary course (10+2) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to and fulfilling the following requirements. Eligible subjects of study in the qualifying examination as given below
Candidates who studied any one of the following groups are eligible to apply:
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any one of the following subjects as fourth (elective) subject viz., Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Microbiology or Home science or Computer science.
Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology

Mark in each of the four subjects would be converted to 50 as Mark obtained / Maximum mark x 50. and the aggregate of the four subjects would be taken for ranking for maximum of 200 marks (50 x 4 = 200).
For the purpose of qualifying examination, the maximum number of attempts to pass for admission to all the courses are as follows.
A certificate regarding the physical standards prescribed has to be obtained from a Medical officer in service not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon before admitting them to the course.
Candidates should not have completed the age of 21 years on the first day of July of the admission year for all the courses. However, for Scheduled castes/ Scheduled tribes, there is no age limit.
65 percent of the total seats are surrendered to TNAU. The single window system implemented by TNAU as per the reservation policy of Tamil Nadu Government is followed to fill 65 percent of the total seats.
